My 10 Favourite Salads

We are eating salads all month for Salad September, so I put together a roundup of my ten favourite recipes from the blog and around the internet for some inspiration. I’ve personally tested each one of these and they all get the Lizzie stamp of approval!

Salad Recipes Liz Dornian

The Best Lentil Salad Ever from My New Roots - I love how versatile this salad is. I usually add a lot of greens when serving, but it’s great with herbs instead of greens, too. The dressing is 10/10.

Smashed Chickpea Salad from Oh She Glows - The perfect thing to add on top of a bowl of romaine, or serve to your non-greens eating family members on toast :)

Classic Caesar Salad from Bon Appetit - If you’re in the mood for from-scratch dressing, crispy lettuce and and homemade croutons, this one is a delight. (note: I’d sub good olive oil instead of vegetable oil in the dressing to make this salad anti-inflammatory!)

Mediterranean Quinoa Salad - An easy meal prep recipe for weekdays, with approachable flavours that would go great with any protein you might want to add.

Cucumber Watermelon & Mint Salad - Gotta sneak in one last fresh watermelon before the season ends!

Thai Noodle Salad - This one makes a lot, but it holds up well in the fridge for a few days. Perfect for leftovers.

Avocado Cucumber Tomato Salad from Feasting at Home - A very simple, fresh side salad. The Peruvian Chicken with green sauce in this post is excellent, too!

Chopped Kale Thai Salad with Sesame Garlic Dressing from Pinch of Yum - I’ve made this 100 times. Flavourful and crunchy, but creamy and satisfying because of the cashew dressing.

BBQ cauliflower salad with Vegan Jalapeno Ranch from The First Mess - Ok, this one’s a little out there. But if you have the time and want to get creative, the result is FANTASTIC.

Kale + Brussels Sprouts Salad with Tahini Dressing from Cookie + Kate - You cannot go wrong here. It’s one of my favourite ways to get in those cruciferous veggies.

I hope this gives you some fresh ideas to keep Salad September interesting, or just to level up your salad game in general. If you have any tried-and-true salad recipes to share, please leave them for us in the comments- I’d love to find some new ones to add to the rotation myself!

Happy salad making!
